Acting, not a deliberate choice but a reflection of life both around and within him, has
brought him to stages and into the spotlight. His journey began with Delhi's ACT One theatre
group, where he performed in productions like "WHAT WHAT WHAT...POLICE POLICE POLICE" and
"CRUPTION KUMARI URF AUGUST PACHASO BAAR." In 1996, he moved to Mumbai and joined Makrand
Deshpande's ANSH THEATRE GROUP, and participating in numerous theatre festivals under the
guidance of Ms. Sanjana Kapoor.
Over the past 15 years, Murari Kumar has appeared in various Hindi films, notably portraying
characters like Guddu in "Gangs of Wasseypur Part 2," roles in "Gulaal," "Black Friday,"
"Ugly," "Raman Raghav," "Vaisa Bhi Hota Hai," "D Company," "ID," "Vakratund Mahakaay," "Titu
Weds Sheru" and "Zindagi Hasal Hai." He has maintained a strong association with filmmaker
Anurag Kashyap and was also a voice in Radio City's "Babbar Sher." Recently, he portrayed
the role of Treasurer in the web series "Maharani," aired on Sony Liv. Murari Kumar's most
recent release is Maalik.
